School has started!!!!!!!!!!!

We are off!!!  The school year has begun and the 6th graders are doing awesome.  We have made the leap from elementary to middle school.  Our job will be to build and develop self-confidence as well as answer questions for all involved.

We have a few different aspects of our day here at Chisholm (no RAP, all grade-level lunch, etc), but it’s all new to the 6th graders.  Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help.  We will continue to distribute books, help with lockers and settle into schedules.  Thank you to all the parents for their support as we continue to build and instill pride into the Chisholm Trail community!

Questions about sixth grade???

My name is Christopher Teter and I will be the Assistant Principal of the incoming 6th grade class.  I will be the grade level principal for the next three years.  I know that as a parent myself, there are many questions, fears and anxieties about middle school.  I thought it might be helpful for us to begin a conversation about the unique journey we call middle school.

The middle school years are extremely important in the development of your child.  So many things transpire in a short amount of time:  Academics become more rigorous, the social scene becomes very important and individual students are trying to figure out who and what they want to become.  Add adolescence and emotions to all of that and you have = Middle School!!!

We know that there are a million questions about middle school and how it might differ from elementary school.  This blog will provide a forum for us to have ongoing conversation about what to expect and what questions you might have as a parent.

There will be a lot of information in the coming months and this blog will be an attempt to answer questions and provide support for the students and nervous parents.

Feel free to ask questions.  I am looking forward to beginning our relationship as we spend the next three years together helping our children become young adults!
